Legal and Advice Service
The Advocacy and Training Service.
What is the Advocacy Service at the nia project?
The Advocacy Service provides information, advice, advocacy, crisis intervention, support and referral to other services for women and children affected by domestic and/or sexual violence. We have a central point of contact in our Information and Referral Line and run a number of different services across North and East London.
Who do we work with?
The Information and Referral Line
Accepts calls from women or agencies during the Line’s opening hours (See CONTACT section). The Advisor can help with finding refuge space either in the nia project’s refuges in Hackney or Haringey or anywhere in the UK. The Advisor can also refer to relevant service within the nia project or to other appropriate services and agencies if we cannot provide help in-house.
The Information and Referral Line has 2 language specific sessions to help women from the Turkish/Kurdish and Eastern European communities access confidential advice and support. (See CONTACT section for further details).
